Latest medical technology using minimally invasive techniques and arthroscopic techniques has proven to show great results.

This treatment enables surgeons to maximize accuracy of surgery, minimize tissue damage and enables patient's faster recovery.

Arthroscopic surgery is a surgical procedure in which an arthroscope is inserted into the joint through 2~3 incision with size of 1 centimeter. The small fiberoptictelecope with the size of 2~5 millimeters are inserted in the joint to view damage, and repair various structures such as ligaments, cartilage and other parts. This treatment enables the surgeons to accurately view the inside of joint on a TV monitor as the surgeon operates. The benefits of arthroscopy include smaller incisions, faster healing, a more rapid recovery and less scarring.

Femoral acetabular impingement, Hip Impingement Syndrome, Inflammatory Osteoarthritis: Using 2-3 small incisions (approximately 5-6milimeters) , arthroscopy is inserted into the joint to cut away the frayed cartilage or labrum that is causing the pain.

Treating damaged cartilage can be done in different ways based on the location and the size of the damage area.

Cartilage Microfracture

For damaged cartilage less than 2㎠, microfracture treatment is performed. Cartilage microfracture treatment removes damaged cartilage from your joint, and drills small holes into bone under articular cartilage to promote healing. These holes help the damaged area to recover.

Cartilage Transplantation - Autograft (from you)

Meniscus Auto Implantation is done if the size of damaged cartilage is less than 1~3㎠. Small incisions are made around the joint. Using the healthy bone and cartilage taken from a non-weight bearing section of your femur, damaged cartilage is reconstructed by inserting new plug into the site. This method is the traditional cartilage transplantation method.

By providing real time imaging of individual patient anatomy, medical professionals can benefit from visual confirmation at each stage of the surgical procedure. This method also tracks patient, instrument position, implant alignment and fine tuning at all stages during the surgery.

  • 3. Partial Joint Replacement Surgery

    Recently, increasing numbers of patients are selecting the partial joint replacement surgery. In case of partial knee joint replacement surgery, damaged interior knee is replaced to an artificial knee. For partial hip joint replacement surgery, hemiarthroplasty, only the femoral head (the ball) of the damaged hip joint is replaced.

Physio Therapy

Interference Current Therapy (ICT)

ICT therapy is a safe non-surgical treatment method using the two separate chains of different frequency. These two currents are passed through the tissues simultaneously to treat the pain area. This treatment can control the pain area and facilitate the generation of the pain control substance. As the currents are passing through the tissues, there is no risk of burning or side effects.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)

TENS is the treatment using electric current to stimulate the nerves. The unit is connected to the skin using electrodes to reduce pain, both acute and chronic. As a non-invasive and low risk nerve stimulation method, TENS has benefit of controlling the pain and massage effect.
